A Marini installed close to Shimla in the foothills of Himalayas will help the tourists get better connectivity through environment friendly asphalt roads.

Shimla, an erstwhile summer capital of British India and the current capital of Himachal Pradesh, is blessed with all the natural bounties one can think of. Its scenic location encapsulated by green hills and snow-capped peaks and spectacular cool hills accompanied by the colonial era structures creates an aura that’s unique only to Shimla.

The National Highways project between the two hills – Parwanoo and Solan – is a fillip to the tourism industry in the state. The project aims to reduce the time and cost of travel between the two hill stations, alleviating the infrastructural segment. The project is one of the stretches approved by the Government under NHDP Phase III.

Environment protection cannot be sacrificed at the altar of road construction, we therefore opted for the greenest asphalt plant in India, the Marini MAC Smart. Experience brings confidence, they say, having run millions of tons through our Marini plants. We know that the stack emissions from the plant are almost negligible and ideal for environment sensitive areas like the Himachal, states Mahendra Agarwal, Director at GR Infra projects.

Fit for the job

The MAC SMART is a compactly configured asphalt plant designed for lowest floor space requirements, making it absolutely fitting for road projects in tough terrains like the Himachal.

Conceptualised for easy transportation through modular designs complying to transport norms in India, the Marini Mac Smart is ideal for any road projects especially for demanding high altitudes sites. Mobile bases eliminate the need for concrete civil works and facilitates quick and robust setup. This not only saves time and energy, but also reduces GHG emissions.

High moisture content & high altitude with low ambient temperatures are adverse conditions for asphalt production. Hot Mix plants must, therefore be solidly built for tough operating conditions. That’s the exactly reason we opted for the highly reliable and top performance Marini plant for our road construction projects in tough ambient conditions. We know Marini’s credibility and that gives us a lot of peace in difficult projects, add R L Kashyap VP at GR Infra Projects Ltd.

Protecting & Conserving the Environment

We know you want the lowest carbon emitting plant and Marini can serve you on a platter exactly that. Configured with recycling options, the MAC smart can cut carbon emissions by up to 30% vis-à-vis conventional asphalt plants. The environmental impact is further reduced through other energy saving technologies.

Further, a 100T storage silo is a great help for GRIL to overcome any delays in hot mix haulage, since dump trucks must manoeuvre through narrow roads and traffic. Having a storage silo helps continuous plant operations, efficiency and productivity.

Preliminary calculations after using a minimum rate of recycling, indicate that the company will cut GHG emissions by around 4,00,000 kgs. We are committed to more and we will push the GHG reductions further, adds Blesson Varghese, Managing Director, Marini India.

A finished project will make the beautiful city accessible with good quality pavements, and make the trip to the queen of hills a pleasure as much as it is to behold. Marini asphalt plants, the undoubted king of all mixing plants is making this happen.
