1.5 Million Ton of Marini Hot Mix for Gujarat Growth Track

The 188 km long Ahmedabad- Viramgam –Maliya Road project (AVMRP), is setting Gujarat again on the fast track of growth. In its first phase the road connects Ahmedabad to Viramgam – now a popular name on the world map, thanks to the Tata nano project and numerous other global investments.

The AVMRP, reduces the distance by around 80 kms between Ahmedabad and Kutch. Besides, this the road connects Gujarat’s emerging industrial hub Sanand to some of the major ports in the state including Kandla and Mundra. By building this highway Gujarat has already cleared the route for various auto-giants including Tata, Ford, Peugeot and Maruti, who have now invested heavily in the state.

The project cost estimated at 1040 Crores, was built by India’s leading infrastructure major L&T. This prestigious & time bound project again needed nothing else, but the reliability and performance of a Marini. The total project was divided in to three zones, and four Marini plants were brought-in to produce high quality mix for this historical project. The Marini’s collectively produced close to 15,00,000 MT of quality hot mix in a time period of around 30 months, including monsoons.

Right mix of Equipment

L&T chose a very smart mix of asphalt plants for this prestigious project, enabling them speed and productivity. A very fast mobilisation was inevitable to take advantage of the

working season. To do so, the forever favourite Roadstars, were mobilized and work on the project began immediately on full-swing. Roadstar, range of mobile plants, are the perfect selection for quick set up and high rate of production. We faced no production bottle necks and environmental clearances were just so easy, since our Marini’s meet very high standards of emissions, states Soundaraj the plant care manager.

Two 200 Tph plants, were then added to enhance the production, as soon as the laying sites were ready to receive larger quantities of asphalt. The plant location and site management were key to the success of the project, ensuring productivity & profitability.

1.5 Million tons with reliability and high quality.

Mr. Arvinda Ghosh, heading the equipment operations on the project, states “reliability and productivity are two main reasons for success on any project. With our Marini’s we are able to achieve very high reliability and performance.”

Producing 1.5 million tons of asphalt on a project in such a short duration needs a system designed for high performance and consistent operations. Speed with accuracy is what differentiates Marini. Automatic dosing, with proprietary bitumen weighing system, ensures the highest quality mix in the industry, states Blesson Varghese, MD Marini India.

In order to support this and other important projects in the states, where Marini’s have been employed. The company has already established a full fledged plant care centre. Service 24×7 with spares are stocked, are ready to support Gujarat’s dream projects.

Cruising on to the future.

The Halol- Godhra-Shymlaji highway ( 182 kms) and the Rajkot-Vadinar highway (132 kms) have also witnessed some massive construction using Marini technology. Upon implementation these projects combined will add business and strengthen the life-line of the state.
