“The decision for MARINI asphalt plants were taken because they have excellent track record in India, as well as world-wide. To ensure our bottom lines, we needed our project durations to be shortened, as much as possible. This calls for a highly efficient, productive, and reliable asphalt plant. Once the plant is on project site, project handling, commissioning, and testing procedures need to be done very efficiently to save time. The plant must be bang on the job and produce quality mix, as each day costs the contractor a lot … and that is exactly what MARINI MAC did.” – Mr Haribabu VP Transportation.
Ramky Infrastructure hit headlines, when it recently installed the greenest plant in Northern India, the Marini MAC 200. Another impressive landmark record that was achieved by Ramky is that the MARINI MAC200 plant was installed in a record number of hours.
The plant, being modular in design, requires zero civil foundation and is supplied with prewired and pre assembled component. Lesser number of mechanical assemblies and smart interfaces, along with a self-diagnosing automation controls were the key features that led to this record success. Marini tracked the project on hourly basis, right from the site layout decision to the final test production.
The record time in which the plant was erected and commissioned has come as a pleasant surprise for everyone involved with the project. Said Mr.L.Narayanel, Senior Manager Resources from Ramky, who till now was accustomed to seeing asphalt plants take around 45-90 days to be erected and commissioned in the country, ” We erected and commissioned the plant in a record 20 days time.
MAC’s modular design facilitates quick set-up and thanks to the pre-wired and pre-tested units, it was all plug and play, “before adding, “All the components fit so well without the need for field modifications. In addition, the plant’s control system help diagnose plant problems with ease, if any.”
The speedy installation of the plant means profits. Ramky will open the roads quicker and finances will flow sooner. The new benchmark has prepared the team at Ramky to improve efficiency and time. Ramky now desires to replicate the success story at the company’s numerous sites pan India. Modular design of the MAC reduces manpower costs, drastically curbs the crane and other material handling equipment charges required during each erection and set up of these mammoth equipment. The 60 T crane was easy to source and we required it for only two days. Pre-assembly of the plant at our factory, pre-wired components, precisely manufactured and tested units, ensure that we do not have any bad surprises at the project site, states Soundarraj, Project Incharge.
20 days from unpacking to production, isn’t a big challenge with Marini plants. With proper planning and support at site, we are confident to take the benchmark higher, Soundarraj further adds.
